Aragorn from Lord Of The Rings in the likeness of Viggo Mortensen .
This was my capstone project under the mentorship of Marcin Klicki over at Vertex School ( previously known as Game Art Institute ) . It was a great challenge for me and of course it could always be better but I'm feeling it's in a good enough spot for me to stop working on it for now and move on to something new .
I would like to give thanks to my mentor Marcin Klicki, John Waynick for his support and teachings in UE4, Ryan Kingslien the founder of Vertex School, all the people that gave me feedback and a speacial Thank You to Kevin Douglas for helping me get higher quality renders in UE4 !
Modeled with Zbrush ,Maya and Marvelous Designer, textured in Substance Painter, hair was done with Xgen and new alembic system in UE4. The podium is a photoscanned asset from Quixel Megascans. Texturing xyz maps were used with Saurabh Jethani's skin material for tilable micro-detail along with scanned 3d models from https://www.3dscanstore.com/ which were zwrapped ontop of my sculpture to get the initial pore&wrinkle detail pass which was later modified.
Everything is rendered real-time in Unreal Engine 4 .
